ELIZABETH CUNNINGHAM DOWNIE (nee ADAMS) April 11, 1927 - May 13, 2001 We are greatly saddened to announce the death of Elizabeth Downie on May 13, 2001, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Don; her parents James and Grace and her brothers, James and Harry. Elizabeth leaves to mourn, her children, Roger (Madeline), Paul (Donna), Frances Stappleton (David) granddaughter Reagan; sister Jean (Kenneth) brother David; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Thelma and Verna; brothers-in-law, Wilf, Ralph and Lloyd (Joan). Elizabeth was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and came to Winnipeg in 1947 to marry her beloved husband, Don. They were happily married for 51 years until Don predeceased her on July 13, 1998. Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff of the M.I.C.U. unit at St. Boniface Hospital. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our Mom, for being there for us throughout our lives, whenever she was needed. Mom passed away on Mothers Day, and it is fitting because we will always remember her love, wisdom, kind words and generosity. We will miss her. Donations may be made to Elizabeths favourite charity, the M.S. Society, 4th floor, 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3. A memorial service will be held at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Dr. (corner of Autumnwood and Cottonwood) at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17.
