Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN DOREEN EDITH CARR (nee WHITE) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Joan Carr on Sunday, May 13, 2001 on Mothers Day, five days after her 92nd birthday. Joan will be sadly missed by her daughter Sheila Prokopowich (Nick) grandchildren, Tony Williams (Deb), Cheryl Amos, Randy Prokopowich (Nicole), Rodney Prokopowich; and her three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kailee Amos and Sydney Prokopowich. Joan was predeceased by her husband Edward Carr in 1985, her parents, brother and sister. Joan was born in Somerset, England, May 8, 1909. She came to Canada as an infant and resided in Thunder Bay, Ont. She moved to Winnipeg with her mother in the 1930s and resided in Winnipeg until moving to Bethel Nursing Home in 1994. Joan enjoyed many years of a healthy life, travelling with Ed and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy Street. The family wishes to thank Bethel Nursing Home and staff for all their care and kindness over the years. Thank you to Dr. R.C. Patel and staff of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli.
