Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNETTE NORA McKAY "JANET" On Thursday, May 10, 2001 at her residence in Manitoba Developmental Centre, Portage la Prairie, MB, Jeannette "Janet" Nora McKay passed away at the age of 72 years. She was born December 7, 1928 in Bloodvein, MB to Peter and Helen McKay, the middle daughter of three. Since Janet has come to Portage, the family has been appreciative of the good and loving care given her by the staff at MDC and wish to express their thanks to them at this time. Janets laughter and teasing spirit will always be remembered by those who knew her. Although confined to her wheelchair for the past few years, Janet was always on the go! She will be dearly missed by her friends on Tower B who are relieved that she will no longer have to struggle with her pain. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Ethel McKay of Winnipeg, MB; nephew Lloyd (Wendy) McKay of Winnipeg; nephew Doug (Eva) McKay with grandnieces Cheryl and Kimberly, all of Smithers, BC; niece Margaret Bowker and grandnephew Trevor Bowker, both of Kitimat, BC. Her friends and the staff at MDC will miss her quiet and friendly ways. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at the Aspen Centre of Manitoba Development Centre, Portage la Prairie, at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Ron Siemens officiating. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Janets memory to the Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
