Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTHONY ANDREW (TONY) RUHR Passed away peace-fully on Monday, May 14, 2001 in the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Tony was born in Grayson, SK, on July 21, 1919. He had a quiet sense of humour, and was a devoted husband, father and family man. Dad always found time for his family, which was a great example to follow. Tony enjoyed the outdoors and loved watching the hummingbirds from the cottage at West Hawk. His favourite pastimes were playing cards (which he won on a consistent basis!), dancing, looking after his roses, woodworking, and golfing. He was predeceased by his wife Anne Ruhr (nee Gelowitz) and by his sister and brothers, Annie Rieger, John and Frank Ruhr. Tony is survived by his loving family, his children, Wayne (Lena) Ruhr, Joan (Merv) Exner, Elaine (Ken) Schauenberg and Lynda Hay; his grandchildren, Kevin Ruhr, Kim (Dave) Pelletier, Michael (Rubeena) Ruhr; Kara Exner (Scott Decksheimer), Kyle (Brenda) Exner; Laura (Martin) Sjogren, Jason and Ryan Schauenberg; Allison and Eric Hay; great-grandchild Nedeja Ruhr; his sisters, Sister Teresita Ruhr, Sister Rose Ruhr, Eva Duczek, Sophie Materi and Betty Flegel. Prayers will be said on Thursday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. from St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 300 Donalda. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. also from St. Alphonsus with Brother Jorge Villegas, O.F.M., Cap. presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Tonys memory to the charity of ones choice.
