ROLAND VERMETTE The family of Roland Vermette sadly announce his passing on May 14, 2001 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. He was 67 years of age. Roland will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandra; his brothers and sisters, Jeanette Konowalchuk, Marie (Steve) Konowalchuk, Albert (Carole), Gerard (Judy), Edouard (Claudette), Helen (Henry) Gumieny and Lorraine (Bruce) Ross; as well as his special companion and pet, Heidi; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cherished Godchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley, a short year and a half ago; his parents, Joseph and Marie Louise; his brothers, Rene and Marcel; his mother-in-law Emily; sisters-in-law, Annette, Joyce and Eileen and brothers-in-law, Mike, Charlie and Ellis. Roland worked for Freeman Television for many years and more recently with Bazaar & Novelty before his retirement in 1999. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and friend; for his kind and generous heart; his wonderful sense of humour and his love of music and dancing. He enjoyed entertaining, especially getting together with family and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow is the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Ward B5 at St. Boniface General Hospital for the special care given to Dad.
