CORNELIUS W. MARTENS May 31, 1921 - May 13, 2001 of Morden, MB Our dad went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness after heart surgery. He is survived by his wife Ann, of 54 years of marriage; four children, Thelma and Abe of Calgary, AB, Alvin and Mary of Chilliwack, BC, Brent and Lori of Calgary, Deanna of Winnipeg, MB. Cornie also has six grandchildren, Greg, Krista, Jodie (Dave), Michael, Patrick, Kaylee; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Jordan and Brittney who was born on his birthday. He also leaves to mourn three sisters, Helena Giesbrecht, Mary Thiessen, Nettie and Jake Peters; one brother John and Sue Martens. Cornelius was predeceased by his parents Helena and Cornelius Martens, two brothers and one sister. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2:00 p.m., Church of God, Morden, with Pastor Roger Stewart and Rev. Morris Vincent officiating. Interment will follow at Southside Cemetery, Morden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. We, as family, would like to thank all the staff at the Health Sciences Centre in S.I.C.U., I.I.C.U. and M.I.C.U. for all the care you gave our dad. We would also like to thank all our relatives and friends for the ongoing prayers and support you gave our family for such a long time.
