MARJORIE WHELON (nee TAYLOR) Suddenly in Vancouver May 14, 2001 surrounded by family. Marge was born in Glenella, MB on May 23, 1912, shortly after the Titanic sank, as she was fond of saying. Her working life was spent in Winnipeg culminating with many years of service in the Income and Excise Tax departments. She will be remembered for her work there and for her service work with the A.C.T. She was an active parishioner at St. Johns Anglican Cathedral in Winnipeg. In 1977 she moved to BC where she has enjoyed her last 24 years. Her grandchildren will always remember their special summers with her on the Parksville beaches. She will be missed by her many friends in Parksville, Burnaby, and Nanaimo, where she has lived, and those in the N.D.P. and K.O.P.S. with whom she volunteered in BC. She was predeceased by her husband Roy; sisters, Kay, Grace, Eva; and brother Jim. She is survived by her son Gari and wife Bonnie of Nanaimo with whom she has lived for the last four years; grandchildren, Tammara of Vancouver, Trevor of Saltspring Island; and great-grandson Tai of Saltspring; brothers, R.A. Rodgers of Victoria, Donald Rodgers and wife Sheila of Winnipeg; and many nephews and nieces. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. May 21 at First Memorial Funeral Services, Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nanaimo Travellers Lodge, 1298 Nelson St., Nanaimo, the BC Heart & Stroke Fund or the Cancer Society. FIRST MEMORIAL (604) 980-3451
