IRIS ARMOUR (TOWNSEND)
Date of Passing: May 14, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRIS ARMOUR (nee TOWNSEND) Peacefully on May 14, 2001, after celebrating Mothers, Grandmas and Great Grammys Day, at age 77. Mom is survived by son Tom; granddaughters, Kristy, Kari and Kelly; inherited grandsons, Andrew, Laz and Adam; the energizers of her life, great-grandsons, Braeden, Bryton and Raphael; brother Ken and sister Betty; many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and Osborne Village acquaintances. Iris is reunited with husband Tom; "daughter" Karen; special sister Dorothy; brother Frank; grand nephew Connor; many other Armour and Townsend family members and Dr. Pacher and "Mugs". Mom was a kibitzer, feisty and determined, always lovable at her best and, as a consequence, even at her worst. A rascal who always ended up doing what she thought best and this last two month chapter of her life proved her right again! Moms crosses to carry in life were many and heavy, but she was always a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and, these last four precious years, an adorable great-grandmother. Her inspiring influence and devillish charm live on in Kristy, Kari and Kelly. Special thanks to all the staff at Thorvaldson C.C., to Judy Margaret and Sandra on 6 AT CPL, to everyone on 3 Unit 11 and 5 Unit 4 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, to Sylvia, Pat Carol and all others on 1 at CPL. Sincere thanks to Betty, Ken, Sandy and Marlene for their sharing with mom, and to Gail Townsend. Mom has been cremated and will be interred this summer, as she wished. If you wish you may make a donation in her memory to The Canadian Mental Health Association, 836 Ellice Avenue, Wpg, R3G 9Z9. Cheerio Toots! I have always admired your spunk and determination and been proud to be your son. Thanks for being you, for loving and caring for Dad as you did, for fighting and living through six of your nine lives over the last 50 years, and for impacting each of your granddaughters as you have. May God keep you smiling always. Love you forever, Tom Jr. We love you for always Grams, Kristy, Kari, Kelly, Andrew, Laz and Adam. We really, really love you "GG", Braeden, Bryton and Raphael. THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD I SHALL NOT WANT He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23 REST IN ETERNAL PEACE!
