GEORGE RAYMOND (RAY) FOSTER Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 79 years. Ray was born in West Kildonan on July 26, 1921. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by everyone. Ray was always smiling. He had a kind word and a helping hand for anyone who needed it. He joined the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in England in 1942. He was discharged in December 1945. He worked for Bay Bronze before starting his own successful Business Custom Aluminum Castings. Ray is survived by his wife Idwen of 59 years; daughter Valerie (John) Allen; grandson Robert; sister Patricia (Ralph) Lucas and their family; along with many relatives in England. In lieu of flowers if you would like to make a donation to either the Grace General Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, 500-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the excellent staff on 3 North of the Grace Hospital.
