Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARRIE ISABELLA SCOTT Peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2001, Carrie Scott, aged 95, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Left to cherish her memory are six children, Verdeen (Harold) Neufeld, Joyce Limerick, Margaret (Louis) Kulchycki, Patricia (Ken) Shalley, all of Winnipeg, Thomasina Smith of Penticton and Robert Scott of Lantzville, Vancouver Island; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Leggett of Bongough, SK, Florence Davey of Portage la Prairie, MB and Jean Stafford of Fort Myers, FL. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Lesley Scott, in 1965; a son in infancy; and a daughter Donna Cuddie in 1990; as well as her parents, Alice Jemima and John Wesley Smith; sisters, Helen (Nellie) Grayson, Irene Frazer, Katherine Colter; and brothers, George, Albert, and Arthur Smith. Mom was born on April 5, 1906 to Alice Jemima and John Wesley Smith of Oxbow, SK. After graduating from the Department of Education Normal School in Regina, she started her teaching career at the one-room Hope School in Glen Ewen, SK. On October 17, 1927 she married Thomas Lesley Scott of Glen Ewen. Mom lived most of her life in Winnipeg aside from a number of years in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, BC. She was an active member of the New Horizons Friendship House Society of Abbotsford and was the recipient of a Certificate of Merit for her many years of service as treasurer. Upon her return to Winnipeg, she resided for a short time in Donwood Manor before moving to the Middlechurch Home. Her family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the many staff members for the special care and attention given to our mother over the years. At her request, following cremation, a private, family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. There is a link death cannot sever, Love and remembrance last forever. If desired, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
