HARRIET SIMARD (nee SWAIN) April 07, 1928 - May 17, 2001 It is with great sadness that we as a family announce the passing of Harriet Simard at the age of 73 on May 17, 2001 at Grace Hospital. Harriet was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1992; parents, Peter and Alice Swain; infant daughter Joselyn; three grandsons, Andre, Anthony and Francois and numerous siblings and in-laws. She is survived by her children, Willard (Edith), Linda, Morley (Dorothy), Connie, Joanne, Victor (Sandra), Karen (Edward), Peter (Charmayne), Ann (Gary), Norma (Nathan), Alvin, Georgina (George) and Brian; 42 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; her sister Isabel (Baldwin) brother Ernie; sisters-in-law, Carrie (Wayne) and Bridgette; brothers-in-law, Valdi, Jack, Wallace and Walter; special nephew Lorne Wood; special boy Danny Moneyas; special friends, Hilda and William LaFerne, John and Violet Porayko. Harriet will be remembered and cherished for so many things none more so than her love and commitment to her home and family. Her life was devoted foremost to maintaining "family". She and her husband instilled pride, ambition and the desire to learn and succeed in all aspects of life in all their children. Harriet was an amazing and inspirational woman, who survived a serious accident in 1992, which claimed the life of her husband Ed. Although she endured many hardships, she remained positive and determined to focus on supporting and guiding her family. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and well she should be as they are continuing her loving traditions. Pallbearers will be all her grandsons, Cory, Darnell, Edward Jr., Darcy, Justin, Kevin, Wade, Kyle, Ernest, David, George, Duane, Andrew, Gabriel, Austin, Stephen, Ryan, Tyson, Jessie and Shadow. Memorial services will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20 at the Manigotogan Community Centre at 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. Interment and reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, Manitoba. We will miss you, Mom When we go home When we want to call and just talk When we have special family celebrations But, we know you are in a good place Love your Family
