DONALD SEEL Surrounded by his wife and loving family our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend passed away on May 18, 2001. Don was born in Lipton, Saskatchewan in 1924, a place he still loved to go and visit. He spent his early years in Saskatchewan before moving to Winnipeg in 1944 to begin his career. He started out working for Massey Harris before moving to Mack Truck. After Mack Truck he became a partner and General Sales Manager with White Truck Sales, where he was able to work proudly with his sons, Brian and Larry and his brother-in-law Bill. He retired restlessly in 1989. Not only was he a hard worker, he was very involved in his community. He served two terms on Fort Garry Council, where he was Chairman of the Police and Safety Committee. He received Honorary Fire Chief Status and had a local street named after him. He was a long-time member of the Masonic Order and a proud, active member of the Khartum Shrine Motor Patrol Unit. After retiring, Don spent many enjoyable hours at his cottage at Pelican Bay with Bill and Irene Herner. He loved being at the cottage and was always surrounded by family and friends. Don will be sadly missed and greatly cherished. Those who knew him were always the better for it. His twinkling blue eyes, quick smile and generous nature left no-one he knew untouched. Dons five granddaughters brought him great happiness. As a Papa he always had a kind word and a gentle touch. They will always cherish the special moments and many laughs that he left them. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Margaret; son Brian and brothers, Harold, George and Wilfred (Spike). He sadly leaves to mourn his wife Ruth; son Larry; daughters-in-law, Judy and Laurie; granddaughters, Averill (Brennan) Stephenson, Lisa, Tara, Bri-Anne and Brenley; sister Irene (Bill) Herner; step-children, Larry, Neil (Marie), and Lynda Mackie; step-grandchildren and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dons favourite causes: the Shrine Burn Fund or The Heart and Stroke Association of Manitoba. There will be a celebration of Dons life at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22 in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow in Garry Memorial Park. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
