BERNICE WERNER (nee PITOLAY) Peacefully at Luther Home on May 17, 2001, Bernice Werner, our Mom, Nana, Grandma and Great-Grandma, stepped into the light to be with our Lord. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and many friends. Surviving her are sons, Jack (Carol) Werner, and Rick (Judy) Werner; daughter Patricia (Gary) Howard; grandsons, Michael (Carole) Werner, Shane (Angela) Werner, and Dean Howard (Christy) granddaughters, Lori Wattman (Layne), Cori (Tony) Martineau, Robyn (Derek) Nero, and Melanie (Mike) Frias; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Brittany, Christopher Kyle, Christopher Graham, Kyle, Brentin and Tanner; sisters, Kay Faseruk (Ont.), Olga (Walter) Olynyk; sister-in-law Jessie Pitolay; many nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her husband Jack on June 6, 1960; parents, Michael and Anna Pitolay; brothers, Harry Thom, John Pitolay, Walter Pitolay and sister Mary Halabisky. Mom had a heart of gold and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She participated in many social activities at the Carriage House North, where she lived for many years. Her favourite outings were to Garden City Shopping Centre, the casinos and her trips to Las Vegas. Because of her illness, Bernice relocated to the Luther Personal Care Home, where the staff and other residents made her remaining time pleasant and enjoyable. Moms only regret is that she will sadly miss spending time with her great-grandchildren. Thanks to the nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital and The Luther Home, and to Drs. Jack Lezack and Jill Kernaghan, all of whom provided support and comfort during her illness. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, instead, donations may be made in Bernices memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9. A Heart of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, the golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly, are the ones that wont forget. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
