Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE JOHNSON WILSON It is with great sadness that we, the many friends of George Johnson Wilson, announce his passing on Friday, May 11, 2001, age 85. George was born December 22, 1915 to Elisabeth Sally (nee Muirman) and John Thomas Wilson near Vista, Man. George spent most of his life in the Riding Mountain area working in the bush and as a licensed teamster for Elkhorn Ranch. He was a legion member and served in the militia. In 1987 he moved to Winnipeg and soon after became well known as the "Rose man" of Osborne Village. There he also sold his hand-made leather crafts. In 1999 he moved back to the Erickson area where he spent the last two years of his life. George loved animals, people and especially children. He was known as Grampa or Uncle George to many. George had an incredible zest for life that inspired those around him. He loved to laugh and enjoyed dancing. His generosity and goodwill to others will be remembered by many. For those wishing to celebrate his life, please join us for a memorial service being held Wednesday, May 23 at 1:30 p.m. at The Crossroads Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Marvin Dyck, 231 Kitson St., in St. Boniface.
