Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABUNDIO (BERNIE) PALAD BERNABE Thursday, July 10, 1941 - Saturday, May 19, 2001 With deep sorrow, we sadly announce the sudden passing of Abundio (BERNIE) Bernabe at the Victoria General Hospital, on Saturday, May 19, 2001. Bernie will be tearfully missed by his daughters, Pearl and Kristie; son Bernard; and grandchildren, Andrelita, Lailani, and Val; sisters, Olivia and Flordeliza; nieces, Myrna (Ted) Bulaong and Nancy (Brandon) of Winnipeg; as well as his fiancee Beth del Mundo; and numerous relatives and friends in the Philippines, Canada, and U.S.A. He was predeceased by his father Braulio and mother Julita; his brothers, Diosdado and Avelino; and sister Remedios. Bernie was born in Norzagaray Bulacan, Philippines, and went to high school in Jose Abad Santos and Adamson University (Philippines). He was also involved in the Kagama Fraternity Leadership as well as the Judo and Karate Association (Philippines). Bernie was a chemical engineer at Bristol for 17 years, and was a highly regarded team member in the construction of the Canadian Arms in the NASA program and became a Real Estate Agent with Greenhills Realty and Phoenix Realty. Bernies hardworking, dedicated personality, warmhearted nature, and ability to make smiles, had earned him the prestigious Top 20 Realtor Sales Award Medallion in Manitoba from the Winnipeg Real Estate Board. His sense of humour and friendly nature will be missed by those who knew him. When asked, "Did you enjoy your life," he responded, "Yes, much more than others." "What would our lives be without a supportive father and best friend that we could depend on when needed." Love Pearl, Bernard, and Kristie. "YOURE A ONE OF A KIND MAN" Lamay will be held on Thursday, May 24 (prayers at 8:30 p.m.) and Friday, May 25 from 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. (midnight) at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial and will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church, 818 Arlington St., Rev. Fr. Robert Polz presiding. Cremation will follow. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the doctors and staff on the third floor of the Victoria General Hospital, and all their relatives and friends.
