Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE CHIPKUS (HORWAT) March 13, 1905 - May 19, 2001 With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Predeceased by her parents; first husband Nick Horwat; second husband Joe Chipkus and brother Michael. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Joe (Olga), Russell (Geraldine) Horwat; granddaughters, Val (Ken) Valainis, Deb (Martin) Richardson; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Jaret, Wade; great-great-granddaughter Kaelyn; nieces, Jessie Grieves, Marge Hatch and Pearl Natyna. Anne was born at Hayek School District, Arborg, MB, daughter of first settlers Andrew and Mary Michalowsky. Mom met and married Nick Horwat and together they farmed in the area. In 1945 they moved to Fort William where Nick passed away and Mom moved to Winnipeg where she worked at various jobs and joined the Ukrainian choir. In 1951 Mom met and married Joe Chipkus and together they purchased rental cabins at Grand Beach, where she spent a happy 30 years looking after her customers. After Joe passed away Mom moved to a seniors complex. In compliance with Annes wishes, cremation has taken place. The family would like to extend special thanks to Marlene, Pat and Deb at Kildonan Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. And the soul that came out of such great tribulation now mounted the chariot and steeds of salvation. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
