Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA (MARY) GREGORASCHUK Peacefully on May 19, 2001 at the Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg, Maria (Mary) Gregoraschuk passed away at the age of 88 years. Maria was pre-deceased by her husband John in 1996; son-in-law, Dmytro Iwonczyk; daughter-in-law Leona Gregoraschuk; and her parents, Oleska and Anna Smuk. Maria is survived by two daughters, Anne Iwonczyk, Irene (Steve) Toffan; and one son, Joseph Gregoraschuk; grandchildren, Elsie Bordyniuk (son Jason), Lillian Gehon, Kenny Toffan, Jerry (Laurie) Toffan and their children Trevor and Brenley, Ricky (Sherryll) Toffan and their children Taylor and Tanner; as well as a sister, Lena (James) Block; numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was born on March 4, 1913 in the Western Ukraine, Selo-Synkiw, Zaliczsczkyj (Rn), Ternopilska (Obl), and came to Canada with her parents and sister in the fall of 1924 and settled in the Sarto area. After Marias marriage to John, they settled at Rosa, Manitoba, and later retiring to Grunthal in 1986. After Johns passing in 1996, she moved to Winnipeg, settling in with her daughter Anne, until ill health forced her to move to the Holy Family Nursing Home in February of 2000. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sarto with Rev. Fr. Myron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren and great-grandson. The family is expressing their great thanks to the nurses and all staff at the Holy Family Nursing Home for the loving care given to our mother at St. Johns ward; to Dr. T. Babick & Dr. Connoly for their quick response in need, to the Sisters for their prayers and thoughtfulness, to Dr. B. Gorski and staff at the Seven-Oaks Hospital as well as those who visited her at the H.F.N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg MB R2W 1T9, or a charity of choice.
