JEAN MELNYK (nee HRYNKIW) Peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Jean passed away early in the morning at the age of 81, with her daughter by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband John who patiently waited for her. Left to cherish her memory and always have her in their hearts, her loving daughter Maureen (Sheldon), the joys of her heart, grandsons, Tyler and Kyle; her son Victor, beloved grandson Dale (Tammy) and great-grandchildren, Chantal, Brandon and Jessica. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers, Carl (Eleanor), Walter (Nellie) sister Stella; sisters-in-law, Yolanda of Toronto, Clara of Hamilton; and brother-in-law Mel of Tottenham, ON; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and her husband Johns family. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Peter Hrynkiw; brothers, Edward, Stanley, Joe, Jack, and Frank; sisters, Bertha (Ginger), Violet and Nellie; and daughter-in-law Lucy Scinocca. Jean was born November 8, 1919 and raised in Cooks Creek, MB. Jean was a kind and giving person who was loved by all who knew her. Never one to complain, she suffered the last few years in silence. She is now an angel on our shoulders, Mom had a heart of gold and enjoyed her life to the fullest. Because of her illness, Jean relocated to the Middlechurch Personal Care Home, where the staff made her remaining time pleasant and enjoyable. The family wishes to acknowledge the caring and attentive 5th Floor Unit 1 staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital. A special thank you to Carl and Eleanor for spending such meaningful time with her. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. TO MY MOM AND GRANDMOTHER, we love you very much, thanks for all that you did for us and now REST IN PEACE. Your hard journey of life is over. Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate her life through personal reflections and happy memories with Jean. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeans memory to Parkinson Foundation or Crohns Foundation. We will miss you Mom But, we know you are in a good place. Love, your family.
