Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAGDALENA (LENA) YORK (nee HARSCH) At age 91 years, Magdalena York passed away peacefully at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home on May 20, 2001. She was born in Winnipeg on January 9, 1910 the third of five children of Magdalena and Christian Harsch. She married Jack York on May 26, 1940 and they spent all of their married life together in Winnipeg, being longtime residents of West Kildonan. She was predeceased by Jack in 1993 and is survived by their one daughter, Roberta of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Emily Lessman, Louise Haberman, and Freda Skibo; and by her brother Frederick Harsch. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Rhoda Harsch of Calgary and Lydia (York) Sigurdson of Winnipeg and by many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane, with Pastor Ed Hamm, Chaplain at Meadowood Manor, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, 577 St. Annes Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5B2. Donations will be used to purchase an Oximeter to further aid the diagnostic care of the residents of Meadowood. She was a resident of Meadowood Manor for over 10 years. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the staff there for their exceptionally kind and attentive care over all of that time. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
