OLIVER GEORGE SPENCE On May 22, 2001 at the age of 75, Oliver Spence left this world to be with his Savior; his wife Elsie; daughter Mary; sister-in-law Leona; brother-in-law Mike; grandson Chuck; his mother Agnes; father Wilfred; sisters, Myrtle, Stella, Agnes Isabel; brothers, Jim, Norman, son Monty. He leaves to mourn his children, Leona Kennedy, Patricia Wozney (Walter), Albert McCumber (Bonnie), Eleanor Hall, Harold McCumber, Gloria Bernas (Steve), Pamela Smith, Sandra Husband (Sheldon), Susan Slobodian (Wayne), Lucille Kitchen (Howie), Cheryl Waytiak (Karl), son Terry, sisters, Lena, Rose, Isabel (Wilfred) brothers, Mel, Herb; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Among those who were special in his heart, the one who stood out was Ebony. Oliver started working at the age of eight and also helped raise his siblings. Main occupations were fishing, landscaping, trucking. He was a jack of all trades, there was nothing he couldnt do. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Monday, May 28 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. at 1:00 p.m. Luncheon will follow at the Friendship Centre, 45 Robinson Ave. All welcome to attend. Flowers and donations are gratefully declined. Cancer may have taken Olivers body, but God has taken Olivers soul. "A man really never dies while there are those on earth who love him. A man is never gone as long as there are those who remember him with fondness and as long as his memory evokes a wistful smile."
