Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEVINE GWEN JAQUES (LEE SHALLEY) Surrounded by her loving family, the Lord lifted Lee into his arms, and carried her home on May 21, 2001. Lee was born in Winnipeg on August 23, 1962. She grew up in Transcona. Her generous, loving and easy-going personality helped her win over almost everyone she ever met. She always made sure everyone was looked after, and would be the first one to help if needed. Lee worked for home care for 15 years, a job that suited her perfectly because of her loving nature. Lee loved her music, books, movies, spending time at her parents and taking her trips to the States with her sister, Kim. The sunshine in her life was her niece and three nephews. She always spoke of them with a twinkle in her eye. Lee was predeceased by her grandparents, William and Levine Jaques, and Mike and Mary Shalley. She is survived by her parents, Pearl and Bill Shalley; her sister Kim and husband Derrick Dubell; three brothers, Mike and wife Laura, Darren and wife Jerrie, and Jason and girlfriend Kristen Funk; three nephews, Joey, Benjamin and Mitchell; and one niece Hailey. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Prayers will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., on Friday, May 25 at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Ernest Hafichuk officiating. Burial to follow in the Birds Hill Cemetery at Birds Hill Park. Active pallbearers will be Tim Adshead, Dan Yakichuk, Ken Vibert, Kevin Basaraba, Colin Robertson, and Dane Loder. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who took such good care of Lee these last few years. A big thank you to all the I.C.U. staff at Concordia Hospital. A special thank you to Isabel Evanochko for all the times she stayed with Lee and looked after her. The family gratefully declines flowers. If friends and family so desire, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Lees memory at 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
