Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY YASYNA It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Harry G. Yasyna on May 22, 2001. Harry was born in Winnipeg on May 15, 1914 and was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary on July 29, 1989, after 51 years of marriage. Harry was also predeceased by an infant brother Fred in 1918, his brother Donald in 1952, his father John in 1954 and mother Julia in 1972. Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter Dolores Bischoff, son-in-law Allan, granddaughters Stacey Calista (Andrew), Jennifer Polet (Calvin) and especially his great-granddaughter Kiara Calista who was a source of great enjoyment for him during the past year. Harry worked for 38 years with Westeel Rosco, retiring in 1979. In his younger years Harry bowled in the C.U.A.C. league and curled with Westeel and the Winnipeg Curling Club. He was an ardent fisherman spending many weekends at various lakes with his fishing buddy, Peter. He was a lifetime member of C.U.A.C. and was active on the executive. He was a great do-it-yourselfer which was important during the Great Depression when money was scarce. He took great pride in fixing things and building gadgets for family and friends. Harry and Mary enjoyed their many trips with Dorothy and Bill to Hawaii, a place that Mary called paradise. After the passing of his wife, Harry also spent many happy times with his special friend Margaret Sawchyn who provided a wonderful source of companionship for him. Dad will be greatly missed by his family, which were of utmost importance to him. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor David Knudson and will be held on Monday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301- 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or a charity of ones choice.
