Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID PAUL JOHN (PAUL) GILLIS Peacefully, on Thursday, May 24, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, Paul Gillis passed away at the age of 48. Paul was born and raised in Winnipeg, and was predeceased by his father Wilfred James Gillis. He leaves behind his mother Theresa Gillis; brothers, Lionel, Brian and Robert; and sisters, Maria and Lucille; aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Paul was always active in life and enjoyed many sports, including golf, cycling and playing squash at the YMCA. He particularly liked the summertime with his friends at The Forks. Paul worked many years with the federal government and most recently worked as a director at the St. Francis House. His outgoing nature and wry sense of humour will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29 at Saint Bernadette Parish Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd., Winnipeg, officiated by Fr. Fred Olds. The family wishes to thank all the staff on the Palliative Care ward at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their assistance and kindness. Special thanks goes to Dr. Paul Daenink, Christine Newell, and Claire ONeil. In lieu of flowers, friends and acquaintances who so desire may make a donation in the memory of Paul Gillis to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9.
