J. MARVIN GUDMUNDSON On Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, Marvin Gudmundson passed away at the age of 55 years. Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Merrilyn; sons, Kerry and Kent; one brother Leo (Johanna) and two sisters, Emily (Bjossi) and Violet; in-laws, many nieces and nephews. Marvin was predeceased by both his parents. Marvin was born in Gimli on August 24, 1945, the youngest son of Ragnar and Ranveig Gudmundson. He was raised on the family farm in Vidir and went to school in Vidir and Arborg. After high school he took carpentry training at Red River Community College and apprenticed with Bentall (Dominion) Construction. He was very proud of his journeymen papers. He worked with Dominion Construction for 35 years. He met his wife Merrilyn, married in August 1967 and had two sons, Kerry and Kent. Most of his life was spent in Winnipeg. Marvin was a very committed member of the Charleswood Kinsmen Club for 15 years and a Beaver Leader for five years. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, boating, woodworking, photography and reading. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Assiniboia - Charleswood Community Church, 760 Charleswood Rd., with viewing half-hour prior to service.
