SISTER ANNE ST-GABRIEL (GERMAINE PELOQUIN) Peacefully and after a very lengthy waiting, Sister Anne St-Gabriel died at the Provincial House of the Sisters of the Cross (Filles de la Croix), on May 24, 2001 at the age of 105 years. Born on October 17, 1895 at St. Jean-Baptiste, MB, she did her schooling at St. Jean-Baptiste and at St. Adolphe. She joined the order of "Les Filles de la Croix" in 1913 and as it was customary, went to France for her religious formation to return in Canada in 1916. Sister Anne St-Gabriel always enjoyed very much all of her different apostolic appointments and because of her gifted memory, loved to recall so many humourous facts and stories that enriched us all very much. She served her community in different tasks in Manitoba and in Saskatchewan as well as in teaching and in the formation program of our community. We would like to thank very sincerely her nephews and nieces that have accompanied her during her last moments as well the kind and compassionate care received at Victoria General Hospital and for so many years by our dedicated staff at 66 Moore. A vigil will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25 and the funeral mass will be presided by Bishop Noel Delaquis on Saturday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. Both these celebrations will be held at the Provincial House of the Sisters of the Cross, 66 Moore Ave., Winnipeg. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
