Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM SIMPSON Suddenly and unexpectedly, William Simpson, aged 78 years of Winnipeg, MB, passed away on May 13, 2001, leaving a huge void and sense of loss in the lives of those who knew him and cared about him. William was born on January 12, 1923 in Accrington, Lancashier, England. He served with the British Army from January 1942 to December 1945 in Africa, India, Burma and England. He came to Canada in November 1947 and worked as a graphic artist for Eatons for 25 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Elise on April 7, 2000 who was the "light of his life". He bore his grief silently, stoically and with great courage. He continued to care for their animal family with tenderness and compassion, with walks to their favourite parks, maintaining the traditions and paths he and Elise had followed. He felt the "light" went out of his life with the loss of Elise but found solace and companionship in his animals and friends who cared about him. Bill was always positive, had wonderful stories to tell of their lives and experiences and found humour and laughter in life and in people who were so fortunate to have known him. He was a kind, gentle soul, who touched many lives and left a lasting imprint on their hearts. He is survived by his beloved animals, Pepe, Cuddles, Pixie and Keetah, who, together with all his friends who knew him and loved him, wish him a peaceful journey, a reunion at long last with his dear Elise - forever watching over their beloved animals. Following Williams wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. As a tribute to all the animal lives they helped rescue and his devotion to animals, any donations may be made in his memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, Attention: Vicki Burns. A PRAYER FOR ANIMALS Hear our humble prayer, O God, For our friends, the animals; Especially for animals who are suffering; For any that are hunted or lost or deserted or Frightened or hungry; For all that must be put to death. We entreat for them all thy mercy and pity, And for those who deal with them, We ask a heart of compassion and Gentle hands and kind words. Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals And so to share the blessings of the merciful.
