KARL JOHN DOERN Peacefully in his 96th year on May 17, 2001 Karl John Doern passed away in Toronto, ON. Karl was born on January 11, 1906 in Overstone, MB and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He was an avid basketball player while attending school in Plymouth, WI 1924 - 1927 at Mission House College. He was employed many years at (Dominion Envelope) Continental Can. Karl loved his home on Roberta and his garden, especially after retirement in 1971. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his loving daughter Doreen; son-in-law Reg Kowalchuk; and his stepson Bill Otto (Ruth) and family. Grandpa will be missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike Dmitrovic), Karla (Jeff Quinn), Rod (Peggy), Kyle, Rachel, Chanel; and his great-grandsons, Cole and Ryan Quinn. He will be remembered and missed by his many relatives and friends, particularly his sister Martha, niece Christine and the Hennes. Karl was predeceased by his wives, Ruby Henne and Mary Otto; sons, Russell and an infant Alfred; his brothers Jake, Otto, Walter, Mike; and sisters, Hettie and Ruth. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Winnipeg to celebrate Karls life at a later date. In life we loved you dearly That will never change Your laughter in our hearts forever Until we meet again
