Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL ALICE BURNETT Hazel Alice Burnett (Goring, nee Love) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at the Pembina Manitow Health Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Emily Lovell and husband Jim; and granddaughter, Beth Venter and husband John, all of La Riviere, MB; as well as sister, Mabel Bullee of Winnipeg; and brother George Love and his wife Pat of Kamloops, BC, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Burnett in 1987 and her grandson Bruce Lovell in 1984. Hazel was born in Winnipeg on July 28, 1919 and moved to Roland, MB in the late 1940s. She ran the New Service Cafe in Roland for many years where her delicious pies and tarts were enjoyed by many. In 1974 she married Jim Burnett and together they enjoyed many years of curling, bowling, and golfing. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. Due to declining health, Hazel moved to the La Riviere Lodge in 1995, where she still enjoyed card games with her family and watching her favourite sports on television. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 28 in St. Andrews United Church, La Riviere at 10:30 a.m. followed by an ash interment at Fairview Cemetery, Roland at 12:30 p.m. A luncheon for friends and family will be served afterward in the Roland United Church. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Grahams Funeral Service of Pilot Mound in care of arrangements.
