JOHN ALFRED (CLEM) CLEMENT HOGUE Peacefully on May 23, 2001 at the E.M Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB, John Alfred Clement Hogue passed away at the age of 88 years. Dad was born on December 8, 1912 at Minnewaken, MB. Before retiring, he spent most of his life farming in the Interlake area, fishing in northern Manitoba and a short period of time in the army during the Second World War. Always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, Dad had a great sense of humour and this was evident during the many visits with family and friends of which he would share many stories of the good old days. He was a great horseman who had a love for horses. While younger, he enjoyed going to square dances and many times would be asked to call-off at these dances. Later on he would attend these dances with his wife Myrtle, who he leaves us to be with. He is also predeceased by his parents, Alexandre and Marie-Jeanne; brothers, Victor, Arthur, Horace (all in infancy), Alex, Wilfred; sisters, Mae, Josephine, Jane and their spouses. Father- and mother-in-law, Gustave and Emma Kallstrom; brothers-in-law, Stanley Kallstrom and Leo Chartrand. He is survived by eight children, Douglas (Thelma) and their children, Annette, Jason, Brendon and Ashley; Barbara (Laurent) and their children, Herve, Denise, Ronald and Cindy; Horace (Heather) and their children, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Orrin and Jarrett; Judy (Merrill) and their children, Tanya, Megan, and Marty; Vernon; Randy (Louise) and Justin; Jerry; Larry (Judy) and their children, Cora-Leigh and Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Scott, Randi, Jade, Brooke, Bowin, Chance and Brianna. Also surviving are brother-in-law Clarence (Kay) sisters-in-law, Mary (Rene), Edith (Armand), Florence (John) and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Fr. Ernest Kamath officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow at the Abbeyville Cemetery. At his request, his six sons will be pallbearers. The family would like to thank Dr. Burnet, the hospital staff and the homecare workers who attended him at his residence during the past few years. Donations in his memory may be made to charity of ones choice. Arrangements by ARNASON FUNERAL HOME LTD. Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072
