JUDITH DIANE DALEY (FLEURY)
Born: Feb 22, 1955
Date of Passing: May 26, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH DIANE DALEY (nee FLEURY) February 22, 1955 - May 26, 2001 Judi, our loving daughter and mother and sister and friend, went peacefully to heaven Saturday afternoon after a courageous and defiant 18-month battle with lung cancer. Judi was born in Edmonton, AB on February 22, 1955 and came to Winnipeg five years later with her mom Judy and her sisters Karyn, Kim and Sheri. Judi grew up in Fort Garry and was a student at Vincent Massey Collegiate. In June 1975, Judi married Steve Daley and their daughter Tammy was born in July 1976. The family lived in Pinawa for several years and Judi spent time in Winnipeg before heading west to Vancouver, B.C. in 1992. Judi made many close friends in B.C. and pursued a career with C-W Agencies. Judi returned to Winnipeg in July 2000, when her cancer brought her home to be with her family. Although Judis disease invaded her body, she refused to let it attack her soul. She continued, with zest, to do those things she enjoyed so much - patiently handcrafting gifts and joyfully creating delicious dinners and desserts. Throughout, Judis strength, thoughtfulness, generosity and sense of humour remained - they did not fade a bit. It is those admirable qualities we will both remember and miss the most about Judi. It is those things we all aspire to maintain in her memory. Judi was predeceased by her father Robert Wayne Fleury and her nephew Kraig Devine. Judi will be forever remembered by her daughter Tammy Marlowe, her mother Judy (Bob) Drummond, her sisters Karyn (Leonard) Dolezsar, Kim (Herb Keele) Devine, Sheri (Bryon) McMurachy and her nieces and nephews. The family extends great thanks to Dr. Garry Schroeder, who touched Judi deeply and gave to her the gift of hope; Garry Loewen, Judis confidante, who gave to her the gift of faith; Clarence Shynkaruk, Judis devoted friend, whom in her words, was her guardian angel. Thanks are extended as well to the staff at St. Boniface Hospitals Palliative Care, who gave to Judi the gifts of respect, comfort and dignity she so appreciated in her last weeks with us. In her last moments, Judi was surrounded by love. She will be profoundly missed. The family plans to gather privately Tuesday to say good-bye to Judi. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and in lieu of flowers donations in Judis name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. "From too much love of living, >From hope and fear set free, We thank with deep thanksgiving Whatever gods may be That no life lives forever, That dead men rise up never, That even the weariest river Winds somewhere safe to sea."
