VICKI LILY EASTON (nee PRYCE) Early Sunday morning on May 27, 2001, Vicki left this world to journey to heaven where she rejoined her parents Herb and Edna Pryce who had gone before her. Vicki, her body ravaged by breast cancer within and without, passed away at home in the arms of her beloved husband Bill. She was a devoted wife, lover and companion to her husband Bill; a gentle, caring and loving mother who imparted her wisdom, moral values, consideration for others and determination to her two daughters Kathi and Andrea (Adrian). The most wonderful Nana to the grandchildren that she loved so dearly, and no matter what store we entered she would head straight for the childrens department to buy clothes and books for granddaughters Devon and Sage and grandson Noah. She leaves to mourn her twin brother Richard (Kristine) brother Gary (Lorna) nephews, Michel (Kyla) and Terrel; and many other family members, as well as the many wonderful friends that she has made over the years and our neighbours whose kindness and generosity has been so outstanding. Vicki was born in Winnipeg on April 15, 1948 and graduated from high school and went to secretarial college. In October 1969 she went with friends for a vacation to Jamaica, there she met her husband Bill Easton a soldier in the Canadian Army who was training in Jamaica at the time. As Bill was stationed in Edmonton it was a romance that cost Bill dozens of roses and many phone calls before Vicki said yes. She and Bill were married in Norwood United Church on April 10, 1971 and in 1972 they were posted to Germany where their oldest daughter Kathi was born. Vicki and Bill were posted to Winnipeg from Germany and have remained here since. She chose to be a homemaker and this left her ample time for the many volunteer jobs that she carried out for various groups. Vicki enjoyed travelling and was fortunate enough to travel to many different countries where she was able to show her adventurous side, para-sailing in Mexico, crawling through underground caverns in Costa Rica, etc. and other adventures. On the 8th of April, 2001 Vicki and Bill, among friends celebrated their 30th Wedding anniversary. Knowing it would be their last anniversary together did not deter Vicki from enjoying herself and making it a very special occasion. On the 29th of April, 2001 Vicki was overjoyed to be able to attend the wedding of Andrea and Adrian. This joyous occasion made Vicki so happy that every day until the end she would look at the beautiful wedding pictures, close her eyes and smile with contentment. A memorial service for Vicki will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Norwood United Church, 160 St. Marys Rd., followed by a reception where family and friends can visit with each other. Our family wishes to thank all those wonderfully kind and caring people, too numerous to mention by name, the nurses, doctors, volunteers, home care workers and all those who made Vickis life more comfortable as the cancer took its toll on her body, but not her wonderful spirit. Flowers are gratefully declined but if you so wish, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, (specify donation is for Breast Cancer Centre of Hope), 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 would be graciously accepted, or any other charity of choice. "Nana, I know you are in heaven and I want to hold you in my arms forever and ever," Devon. WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
