MABEL MARIE MARGARET PALYSHNUIK On Friday, May 25, 2001 at her residence, Marie Palyshnuik, aged 100 years of Arborg, MB. Born January 17, 1901 in Liverpool, England, she served with R.A.M.C. from September, 1939 to March, 1948 and also in Civil Defence. She nursed in England, came to Canada in 1957, was a nurse in the Arborg Hospital for one and a half years and also at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Winnipeg, for 10 years until the time of her retirement. Marie was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 161, Arborg. Marie had resided with Rose Lubinski for the past 14 years where she received excellent care. She was predeceased by her first husband John James Connelly in 1932, by her second husband Dymko Palyshnuik in 1980 and by a son John. Surviving to mourn her loss one son Gerald; Johns widow Sheila; grandchildren, Tina (Tom), Barbara, Allen, Angela (Bill), Derek (Roma) great-grandchildren, Helen, Jodi and David, all in England. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel, Rev. Deacon Harry Chuckry will officiate. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Arborg, Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Rembrandt. Legion Rights conducted by Arborg Branch No. 161. Her pallbearers will be Legion members. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
