THOMAS WILLIAM McGIRR Thomas McGirr of Sunset Bay, MB passed away suddenly at the Selkirk General Hospital on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the age of 78 years. Thomas will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jo-Ann. Also left to lovingly remember are his stepchildren and their families, Sharon Dropko and fiance John Burrows, Karen McConnell, Ken Dropko and Janette Tarr. Left to mourn in Thomas birthplace of N. Ireland are his brother Jim and Daisy McGirr; sister Vera Anderson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Ireland; and four daughters, Joan, Daphne, Phyllis and Doreen. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Dropko, Sherri and Deryn Tarr, Wesley and Jared Dropko. Thomas was such a joy to be around as he always had a kind word and made light of any of lifes situations. He looked at life with utter cheerfulness and indescribable patience. Stress seemed to escape him. His joy of nature watching kept him content for his remaining days as did his last view of the warm rays of sunshine funnelling into his room. In Irish style, a celebration of Toms life will be held in the Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2. In lieu of flowers, plant a tree in his memory and let it remind us to celebrate life, and nurture those we love while in our care. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba Division. Tom - To your beautiful smiling Irish blue eyes, youll forever be missed and always loved.
