ALMER NATHAN DUNN Peacefully on May 30, 2001, Almer Nathan Dunn passed away at the age of 83 years. Remembering him forever are his wife Mona; daughters, Patricia (Ted), Diane (Terry), Deb (Glen) son Gerald (Debbie) grandchildren, Dawn, Tracy, Mike, Todd, Eric, Dana, Chad, Justin; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, D.J., Aspen, Connor, and Jayda; along with many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Almer was predeceased by his parents, (Walter & Bertha) brothers, (Gerald, Austin, Delbert) and son Walter. Born on December 18, 1917, Almer was raised in the Carman area. Almer served in the Armed Forces as a member of the Fort Garry Horse until wounded in 1944 at Vimy Ridge. Almer returned to Graysville to his wife Mona to start a farm of their own. In 1954 Almer and family moved to Carman to work in bulk fuel distribution until he retired in 1973. Almer was very active in community fundraisers and local sporting events. Almer then devoted his full time to his passion of raising and racing standard bred horses. Funeral Service will be held from the Carman United Church on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman, MB. A lunch will follow at the Carman Community Hall. A public viewing will take place from Doyles Funeral Chapel in Carman on Friday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Carman Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Box 610 Carman, MB R0G 0J0.
