Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY KALENICH (KOLENICH) Peacefully, after a brief illness, Uncle Harry passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital on May 29, 2001. He was predeceased by his parents; sister Jean (Paul) Tabaschuk; brothers, Bill, Pete (Mary) and Rev. Michael (Annie) Kolenich. Besides his sister-in-law Ann Kolench, he will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was born December 10, 1916 in Rossburn, MB to John and Anna Kolenich. He served overseas with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles until 1945. He worked for the garment industry until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to the casinos. His favourite pastime was family gathering at Christmas, Easter or any other occasions. He enjoyed the company of all his nieces and nephews and was very proud of each and every one. We will all miss his wit and humour. Uncle Harry was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Josaphant Council No. 4138 and a member of the Ukrainian Canadian Legion No. 141. Special thanks to the nursing staff of 5U2, Seven Oaks Hospital. Prayers will be said on Sunday, June 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Chapel, with Rev. Fr. Walter Klimchuk and Deacon Gordon Mendres officiating. Legion No. 141 Color Guard will be present. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his godson Eugene Kolench; and great-nephews, Jeff Felde, Kenny Vince, Rick Trapp, Rod Sudbury and Randy Serkes. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his nieces and nephews. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Uncle Harrys memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
