Glenn was born into the home of George and Grace Murphy of Spyhill, SK on November 3, 1926. He grew up in the Eriksdale area where his family farmed. He married Laura (Unger) in 1954. God blessed their marriage with four children and seven grandsons: Stephen (Linda), Joel and Thomas of Winnipeg; Marie (Ron) Rogge, Joshua, Josiah, Jeremy of Germany; Dale (Diane), Sam and Matt of Winnipeg; Dean (Leah) of Alberta. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Barbara Burke of Penticton, BC, Margaret Parkes of Eriksdale, Lawrence (Anita) of St. Anne, George of Eriksdale, Audrey of Winnipeg. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Glenn graduated from Northwest Bible College in Edmonton, AB in 1959. In 1962, he received his ordination from the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Glenn and Laura pastored in Fairview and Eureka River in the Peace River area of northern Alberta, and in Provost and Metiskow in southeastern Alberta. Later they resumed pastoring in Gladstone, MB. Glenn blessed and encouraged those around him with his love and compassion. People were inspired by his music and singing. Glenn will be sadly missed. Our consolation and trust is in the sovereignty, mercy and love of our God. Rest now, dear one, rest... You have finished the race. No more pain and suffering to cloud your face. You are home, safely home. (by l.e.m.) Blessings and thanks to the following: - God, for His sustaining mercy, grace and faithfulness. - Our children and grandsons for their love and generous caring. - Calvary Temple church family, especially the pastors, for their encouragement and prayers. - Glenn and Lauras sisters and brothers for their loving help. - Ben and Joyce, and Marion for their steadfast strong support. - Isaac and Nan, Glenns kind volunteers from Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba. - Our kind and generous neighbours. - Doctors Permack, Wong, Marr and Mulder. - The nursing and support staff at Riverview Palliative Care Unit, for their excellent care of Glenn. - The Home Care team led by Mary Ashcroft and Cindy, and the day and night attendants who faithfully and gently provided basic care for Glenn. Glenn was uniquely blessed with compassionate and caring people. We are truly grateful for all those who visited and prayed and remembered us in their thoughts and deeds during Glenns illness. The viewing will be held June 5 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Buntain Chapel of Calvary Temple, Winnipeg.
