ADALHEIDUR (HEIDA) MAGNY ALBERTSON Heida passed away peacefully at the Sunnywood Personal Care Home in Pine Falls, MB on Sunday, June 3, 2001. Heida was born in Gimli, MB on June 25, 1914 and was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her parents, Magnus and Thuridur Holm; and her brothers, Solvin, Dori, Otto and Albert. She was also predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Albert, on September 30, 2000 and daughter-in-law Sherry on October 1, 1999. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Bert Jr., Herb (Laurel), and Ken (Donna) and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Heida grew up in Gimli. She and Bert lived in Gimli for a while after they were married, then spent a few years in Beresford Lake, MB and in Langford, BC before coming back to Manitoba where they settled in Pine Falls. Heida was a kind and loving mother with a good sense of humour and a caring spirit. In her youth, she was active in the community with the Rebekah Lodge and the Anglican church. Her main purpose in life was her family, always trying to make things nicer and better for them. She loved to knit for her loved ones. Her favourite leisure time activity was playing contract bridge with friends. The family extends their sincere thanks to the very special people, the staff at Sunnywood, for the tender loving care showed to our Mother. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the Church of the Advent in Pine falls on Wednesday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Rountree officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Sunnywood Personal Care Home in Pine Falls. Russell Funeral Homes are entrusted with arrangements. Call 268-2263.
