TERRANCE ERIC McLEAN 1946 - 2001 Terry passed away peacefully on June 2, 2001, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carole; children, Sheri (David) and Jayson; grandchildren, Kara and Matthew; mother Erica McLean; sister Sylvia Halls (Darrell) brother John (Betty) nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. Terry was predeceased by his father John Kelly McLean in 1953 and his sister Elizabeth Ann McLean in 1989. Born in Yorkton, SK in 1946, he spent his childhood on a farm in Mair, SK, moving to Redvers, SK after the passing of his father, and then to Winnipeg in 1960. After graduation Terry began working with Manitoba Hydro, a career he enjoyed for 37 years before retiring on February 5, 2001. Terrys first passion was his family followed by hockey and golf. As a result of his children swimming competitively, Terry was an active member of the Canadian Amateur Swimming Association and also became a board member and President of the St. James Seals Swim Club. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren. For the last 10 years Kara and Matthew have kept Poppa very busy. He was a great baby-sitter, homework helper and spectator at all their activities. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Barb Bel (visiting nurse) and to the many friends and family who offered continued help and support throughout Terrys illness. A service in celebration of Terrys life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Rev. Colin Peterson officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Terrys memory to the charity of ones choice. Dad, you were a terrific inspiration in our lives.
