ARTHUR LORNE LAMONT Arthur Lamont of Edmonton passed away on May 16, 2001. In 1946 he became the Administrator of the Veterans Land Act in the District of Portage la Prairie. He held this position until ill health forced him to retire from the Federal Government in 1974. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Viola; his daughter Bonnie Waddell, her husband Edward Waddell, of Headingley; his son Tom Lamont of Edmonton; four grandsons, Andrew Waddell and his wife Debbie of Winnipeg, Jordan, Bradley and Braden Lamont of Edmonton; his brother Leonard Lamont and his wife May of Victoria, BC; his sister Grace of Wiarton, ON; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John of Ethel, On, and his brother George of Oakbank, MB. A Masonic funeral service will be held in Masonic Hall, 52 Tupper St. South, Portage la Prairie, on June 6 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
