Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES TERRANCE MANDRYK September 23, 1944- June 1, 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Jim is survived by Holly, his loving wife of 35 years; daughters, Shelley (Garth) Render of Nokomis, SK, their children, Cory, Blair and Karissa; and Lori (Terry) Brakel of Winnipeg, their children, Kurtis, Chase and Cameron. Dean Gallant of Winnipeg was a son of Jims at heart. Jims grandchildren were very precious to him. He could always be caught bragging about one or the others achievements. Jim was born and raised in Grandview, MB until moving to Winnipeg to pursue a Civil Engineering Technology career. Jim and Holly were married in May 1966 and set to work raising their family. Jim had a prosperous career with I.D. Group before moving to Cochrane Engineering as Vice President and General Manager of the Manitoba Division. He enjoyed his work at Cochrane so much that when asked when he would retire hed reply, "Retire! Not when Im having too much fun working!" He was respected and admired by all in his field. Jim was a member of many different boards and organizations, most notably: Canadian Technicians and Technologists of Manitoba, Canadian Technical Asphalt Association, American and Canadian Public Works Associations, Assiniboine P.C. Association, and Red River Community College Board of Directors. Dad had many hobbies. There will be a void at this years annual fishing trip to Red Lake, ON with Fred and the gang. He was also an avid hunter. He would start each August with bow season, then onto muzzle loading and finally to rifle season in November. He will be sadly missed by Bob, Janice and all of his friends in Carberry and Cartright. Also his many friends at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Northland Archers Club, and the Archers and Bow Hunters Association. And when he could find the time he would be out on the golf course. Grandpa took enormous pleasure in his grandchildren. Whether it was watching Cory score goals in hockey or teaching Kurtis archery or playing trucks with Blair or guns with Chase or doting on Karissa or just holding Cameron, he couldnt have been more proud. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jims memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
