Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES WILBUR PALLEN Peacefully on June 4, 2001 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Wilbur Pallen, aged 92 years, of Clandeboye, MB. Wilbur was born in Dalhousie, NB on May 9, 1909. He began his career with the General Motors Co. in the early years. He then served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Electrical, Mechanical Engineers with the rank of Major and retired from the reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then resumed his career working with General Motors dealerships in Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg in 1953 to work at Winnipeg Motor Products. He and Doris moved to Clandeboye in 1972 and lived there until the time of his passing. He was predeceased by Doris in 1981 after fulfilling 50 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by a son Don; and is survived by two sons, Ross (Margaretha) and Brad (Carole), both of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Darren, Sheri, Valdene (Jacques) Chammartin of Winnipeg, Gregory of Toronto, ON, David of Los Angeles, CA, Richard (Lori) and Lori (Derek) McLeod both of London, ON, Dean (Maggie) of Ottawa, ON, and Natalie of Victoria, BC. A private service will be held on Friday, June 8 at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Legion Athletic Camp Fund, in care of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 42, Selkirk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
