Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryURSULA DAHLGREN (KOONS) August 21, 1905 - June 4, 2001 After a lengthy illness, Ursula passed away at the Central Park Lodge, Poseidon Bay, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Clarence of 55 years and by her 10 siblings, she is mourned by her daughters, Lorna Tompkins (Jim) of Cape Breton, and Carol Hodges (Glenn) and grandchildren, Carole, Tom, Greg and Scott. From the 1930s to the 1970s Ursulas energy and talent propelled her to excel in the field of music and teaching in which she had a wonderful and satisfying career. This along with her being a devoted wife and parent made her a woman ahead of her time. Born in Douglas, ON, Ursula moved to Minitonas, MB with her family in 1913. Ursula and Clarence spent most of their life in the Dauphin community where they raised their daughters and taught music together. Ursula was an accomplished woman as a performer (vocal - Rose Bowl Winner in 1931; drama - Best Actress Award, Provincial Drama Festival) as an educator (teaching kindergarten with a music component in her own home for 20 years, as well as private vocal lessons and music in the Dauphin High School) and as choir leader (Dauphin 1st United Church and the Aurora Singers). Since their honeymoon in 1933 at Clear Lake, Ursula and Clarence enjoyed every summer there until Clarences death in 1988. Clear Lake was their special summer home at which many friends and family members enjoyed their hospitality. Ursula will be remembered for her sparkle and energy, her passionate singing, and her love of her children and family. As a mother and grandmother she will be greatly missed. The family thanks her care givers of the past 13 years, her live-in homemakers and the Central Park Lodge Staff. Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Westworth United Church, Grosvenor and Lanark. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald Street, R3C 4G2. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
