SIGRID JOHNSON Suddenly, on Monday, June 4, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Sigrid passed away at the age of 62 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband George; her two sons, George "Andy" (Shirley) and family, Brandy, Anthony, Nicholas and great-granddaughter Halley; Dale (Deborah) and family Brandon and Kelly. She is also survived by her mother Emma Malmas and by her twin sister Signe; brother Nils (Janet) sisters, Jenny (Walter), Lennea, Esther, Alma, Elsie (Graham), Carrol (Barry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John and brother Leonard. Sigrid was born in Winnipeg on March 2, 1939 and raised in Meadows. She attended school at Meadows and Rosser and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. On June 25, 1960 she married George Johnson and they spent 40 years together. During that time she was a loving wife and devoted mother. She was an avid camper, enjoyed travelling, and sports. Sigrid was employed by A & W for over 20 years and was loved by all who knew her. Remember her with a smile today, She was not one for tears. Reflect instead on memories, Of all the happy years. Recall to mind the way she spoke, And all the things she said. Her strength, her stance, The way she walked, Remember these instead. The good advise shed give us, Her eyes that shone with laughter. So much of her that never dies, But lives on ever after. She was a woman of honesty, Integrity and pride, Important then the way she lived, Not the way she died. If tears should fall today, Perhaps they shall be shed, For the many years without her here, That still lie ahead. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Corydon at Cambridge, with visitation following the service. Pastor Rick Sauer officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
