LORNE LAMONTAGNE Peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2001 at the Flin Flon General Hospital, Mr. Lorne Lamontagne, aged 70 years of Flin Flon and Thompson. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 6, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. in the Boardman Funeral Home, 28 Nelson Rd., Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 114 Cree Rd., with Rev. Leslie King and Fr. L. Alarie officiating. Interment to follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Lorne was born in Winnipeg on May 28, 1931 to Grace and Alex Lamontagne and resided on a small farm in the St. Vital area. He moved to Thompson in 1958 where he made his home and was employed with I.N.C.O. for 32 years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was always found out fishing, running, skiing, or just riding his motorcycle. He could also be found coaching hockey or practicing his karate. Lorne was a longtime member of the Thompson Shriners and was an active and enthusiastic member of the Thompson Ski Club. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing his four children, Lori (Wayne) Landers, Leanne (Greg) Phair, Doug (Janet) Lamontagne and Lisa (Chris) Reddy; six grandchildren, Robyn, Michael, Sarah, Cody, Jonathan and Ellorca; plus numerous relatives and friends. Lorne was predeceased by his wife Bernice; grandson Ryan Landers; and his parents, Alex and Grace Lamontagne. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and a special thanks the nurses and staff at the Flin Flon General Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at the Bank of Nova Scotia, 50 Selkirk Ave., Thompson, MB R8N 0M7 in care of the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
