BELARMINA (BELA) MARQUES Peacefully, this gentle soul was called home by her beloved Lord in the early hours on June 4, 2001, at Riverview Health Centre. Loving, fulfilling memories of this very dear sister and aunt will forever enrich the lives of her remaining family, making this great loss more bearable. She was cherished and admired for her strong values and unselfish gift of herself to whomever needed her help. Her character is a strong ideal to strive for and be emulated throughout the future family tradition. Belarmina Marques was born on January 25, 1915, in Macau. She was very proud of her heritage and culture and would entertain both family and friends with most interesting stories of her very rewarding life and world-travelled adventures. She loved her adopted home in Canada and developed strong friendships within her church, volunteer, and social circles. She loved people and they in turn would reward her with the same respect she bestowed on them. She was indeed one of a kind. The family would like to thank Dr. T. Aldor for always caring. Special thanks to all the doctors who were kind to her. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Garcia and all the generous staff on Palliative Care 3E at Riverview during her illness. Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 7, commencing at 7:00 p.m. at John XXIII, 3390 Portage Ave. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Cremation and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to a charity of ones choice is appreciated.
