Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABELLA (ISA) MACFARLANE WRIGHT (nee PURDEN) With great sadness, the family of Isa Wright announces her death on Monday, June 4, 2001 in Winnipeg. Isa was predeceased by her husband Gordon in February 1989; her parents, Colin and Mary Purden; and brothers and sisters, Tom, Mary, Adam and infant Margaret. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Mary and Len Pedrick, son Gordon and Joy Wright, son Colin and Gail Wright; grandchildren, Kathryn and J.P. Romano, Leslie and Brad Goerzen, and Derek and Lisa Pedrick, Richard and Sandra Wright, Kurt and Darlene Wright, and Lisa and Don Chenel, David and Maureen Wright, Scott and Stephanie Wright, and Janice Wright; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret and Pierre Wolfe, Chrissie and Dan Drachuk, and Jessie (Bunny) and Clayton Finch, all of Winfield, BC. Born in Winnipeg March 27, 1913, she moved to Scotland at six months and returned to Winnipeg at the age of six. Isa grew up in South Transcona, went to Southside School. Isa met Gordon in Transcona and they were married on April 25, 1936. Together they raised three children while living in Transcona. In the fall of 1957 they moved to Selkirk, MB where they lived until retirement. They spent their retirement years between Star Lake and California (14 years), with many visits to the West Coast and to friends and family throughout Canada. Isa had a very strong sense of family. Isa was also well known for her delicious pies and baking. Her hand-knit baby outfits were also a coveted item and all of her grandchildren have afghans knit by "Grandma". In the last few years, Isa had maintained her independence and apartment, while enjoying various family activities and the addition of 13 great-grandchildren. Her collection of grandchildren and great-grandchildren photographs was proudly displayed throughout her home. She was truly a strong individual who had a deep sense of family commitment. We will always love you. The family wishes to thank Dr. Guzman and all the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, for their help and thoughtfulness in the past two months. They provided Isa with exceptional care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Carol Fletcher of the Transcona Memorial United Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Transcona Memorial United Church, Memorial Fund; or to a charity of choice.
