EDWARD E. MAMROCHA It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Edward Mamrocha, beloved husband of Betty, at the St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, June 6, 2001. Edward was 66 years old. In addition to wife Betty of 40 years, Edward is survived by sons, Brian and Dave (Jannine) daughter Cheryl (Barry) special grandson, Jeffrey; brother Casmir (Doreen) sisters, Carrie Woligroski, Nellie Klym (Andrew), Adele Garbolinski; sister-in-law Helen and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joyce and George; along with many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by parents, Zigmund and Margaret; brother Joseph; brothers-in-law, Tom Woligroski and John Garbolinski; and in-laws, Mike and Annie Osadchuk. Edward was born in Allegra, MB in 1934. He grew up in the area and it is here where he met Betty. They were later married in Ladywood in 1960. Edward was employed at Canada Packers for 41 years beginning in 1953. After these many long years of service with the company, he chose to take any early retirement in 1994. During his retirement years, he was able to spend much more time doing the hobbies he loved so much. He took great pride in being the President of St. John the Baptiste Ukrainian Catholic Church for the last seven years. He ensured the church grounds were kept in good order and helped organize the annual church picnic. Edward also very much loved the outdoors. He loved to spend time with nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom and berry picking. Edward was also an avid gardener and took great pride in his backyard vegetable garden. Much was shared with the family during the fall harvest. Perhaps his biggest joy for the last six years has been his special grandson Jeffrey. The two had been inseparable and spent much precious time together. A favourite activity was to go out for ice cream which they both loved so much. Edward will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. Prayers will be said on Friday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Park Avenue, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. John Sholdak presiding. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptiste Cemetery in Lowland, MB. Pallbearers will be Derek Honkey, Allan Murash, Darren Murash, Eugene Mamrocha, Jim Woligroski and Ray Mamrocha. A very special thank-you to Dr. R. Wong and staff at Cancer Care Manitoba, St. Boniface. Also, a special thank-you to the VON Marlene and to our family, friends and neighbours for caring in a time of need. After Glow Id like the memory of me to be a happy one, Id like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done, Id like to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days, Id like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long, And cherish those very special memories to which I belong.
