Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (DOUGLAS) JOHN NEIGHBOUR On June 4, 2001 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, surrounded by his family, Doug peacefully left us. His wife Mary; daughters, Anne and sons, Lucas and Logan Vandersteen, Lynn and Greg and children, Clinton and Morgan Brimacombe of Nanaimo, BC survive him. His brothers and sisters, Barb (Cec) Kerr, Don (Juanita) Neighbour, Benny (Bonnie) Neighbour, Linda Adams, Terry (Doug) Swalwell, Brenda (Lawrence) Smith, Debbie (David) Fredrickson, Denise (Al) Miller; also aunt Frances (Dangle) Ramsey, aunt Velma and Reg Dawes, uncle Foster and Phyllis Harburn; and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Camp Hughes on January 22, 1936 to Myrtle and Albert Neighbour. He began work on the railroad where he met Mary, his wife of 43 years. They bought a farm in Fisher Branch where they raised their family and still call home. He also drove gravel trucks, ambulance and the school bus, where he enjoyed the kids and his fellow workers. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the doctors and staff at the Percy E. Moore Hospital and the Home Care Program for all the years of caring and support. Thank you to Karen Price for taking Doug to Nanaimo. We shall miss Doug, his generosity and his good-natured humour. A celebration of his life will be held in the Fisher Funeral Home on June 8 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor James Thiessen officiating. Cremation has taken place and a graveside remembrance will take place at the Carberry Cemetery at a later date.
