Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES CATHERINE ROSS (STEVENS) Peacefully on June 6, 2001, Agnes passed away in Winnipeg at the Health Sciences Centre after a brief illness. Agnes was born on February 10, 1920 to Fredrick and Josephine Hickes. Agnes was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Sophie Hickes, Mamie Tulloch and Ada Scramstad; brothers, Sydney, Willie and Albert Hickes; husband Robert Stevens in 1972; and husband Gill Ross in 2000. Agnes leaves to celebrate her life and cherished memories, daughters, Roberta Ftoma (Steve) of RR No. 1 Selkirk, Patricia (John) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Greg Ftoma (Kim) of Winnipeg, Kelly Weir (Mark) of Water Valley, AB and Vanessa and Rochelle Evers of Winnipeg; her sister Jennie McCumber of Selkirk, MB; and many nieces and nephews. Agnes married Robert Stevens in 1940 and lived in Selkirk where they raised Roberta and Pat. She worked at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre for 25 years until her retirement in 1980. Agnes married Gill Ross of Edwin, MB in Arizona in 1980 and spent many winters in Mesa, residing in Edwin and then MacGregor until her passing. Agnes was vibrant in life and enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping and fishing and during her retirement developed a passion for golf. Agnes was always active and fun loving with family and friends and enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing whist with friends in Arizona and MacGregor. Her genuine treasure was in the untiring interest, love and support for her four grandchildren for whom she was always there by attending their various activities right to the end. Funeral services for Agnes Ross will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11 at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards of the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment to follow at the Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrance of Agnes may be made to the MS Society of Manitoba, 400-141 Banntyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3 or the charity of your choice.
