MARIAN ISAACS Born October 30, 1914, in Oakburn, MB, Mom suffered a stroke on May 20, 2001 and went to be with her Lord on June 7, 2001 in Ashern, MB. She was predeceased by Anthony, her beloved hubby for 52 years, in 1994. She leaves son Lee (Lois) of Ashern; and daughters, Joyce (Lester) of Victoria, Val (Lawrence) of Luton, England, Gwen of Portland, OR; and 11 grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by sister-in-law Wilhelmina, and many friends in Appleton Estates. Mom was a devout Christian with an abiding passion for evangelism. She was a dedicated teacher at Windsor School in St. Vital for 17 years before she and Dad retired. Summers at Caddy Lake were a source of joy as was her work with the Winnipeg Stamp Club. Her love of literature, especially poetry, was a lifelong pleasure. She enjoyed reading to children and could quote reams of childrens poems. The family expresses its heartfelt thanks to the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit of the Ashern Hospital for the tender care given to Mom in her final days. A memorial service will be held in the Church of the Way, 450 Lilac, Winnipeg, on June 19 at 2:00 p.m. High Flight Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward Ive climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hovring there, Ive chased the shouting wing along and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue Ive topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, Where never lark, or even eagle, flew; And, while with silent, lifting mind Ive trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
